Sweet Potato Burgers

Your party food might be a hit with friends, but make sure it isn’t a blow to their oral health. Keep your summer shindigs mouth-friendly with this recipe for sweet potato burgers. Sweet potatoes aren’t just tasty; they also contain nutrients like vitamin C, vitamin E and potassium that are good for oral health.1

Ingredients:
1 medium sweet potato with skin removed, cubed
1 16-ounce can chickpeas, drained
½ small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
Juice from ½ lime
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Fill a pot with enough water to cover the sweet potato and bring to a boil. Add sweet potato and boil for 8-10 minutes or until soft. Remove from heat and drain water. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and blend until well-combined. Use a spoon to scoop out 1/5 of the mixture and form it into a patty with your hands. Place on a baking tray covered with parchment paper. Repeat process for the remaining mixture. Place baking tray with 5 patties into the oven and bake for 30-50 minutes or until slightly golden brown and firm. Enjoy with your favorite toppings!
